Black History Month 2023 is here.
Do you know what you’re doing yet? 🤔
✨ ✨ ✨This is an exciting time of the year for Support Black Charities! Black History Month (BHM) is finally here. It’s an opportunity to highlight the impact that Black Nonprofit Leaders are making within the Black community.
What is Black History Month?
BHM, also known as African American History Month, is an annual observance in the United States and Canada to commemorate the achievements and contributions of Black people throughout history. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, two important figures in the struggle for Black equality at the time.
Black History Month is a celebration of Black culture, Black individual accomplishments and Black contribution to the advancement and elevation of the global Black community. This relates directly to Black organizations, as they most often embody Black culture, Black accomplishments, and Black community expansion.

BHM also offers countless ways to acknowledge this annual celebration whether you are focusing on the past, present or the future. Some celebrate, participate, others contribute or honor it.

Due to popular demand, we are creating a dedicated Events Calendar page specifically for Black History Month 2023. Since the beginning of January 2023, we’ve been receiving a great number of inquiries from individuals and businesses looking to participate or engage with Black-led & Black serving organizations during Black History Month 2023.
We decided to create a BHM Events Calendar to make this information readily available online. We are excited to present it and promote it throughout the month to our audience as this initiative directly aligns with our mission to increase online visibility of Black organizations.
Are you looking to support, volunteer or donate as an individual, group or business during BHM?
Check out all the interesting Events hosted by the vetted Black organizations that are listed, featured, and promoted on our online Directory. Comeback often as new events will be added throughout the month.
