What are Facebook fundraising tools?
Facebook fundraisers
Users can create Fundraisers to raise funds on behalf of non-profit organisations. They can look through a repository of nonprofits, and choose one to raise funds for. Users may construct fundraising pages once they’ve picked who they want to raise money for.
Individuals frequently fundraise to commemorate key events such as birthdays or anniversaries. They also call for aid during events like natural disasters, or National Nonprofit Day. You can use these factors to encourage supporters to start fundraisers. Provide them with attractive visuals, videos, links, and statistics to give them the best chance of success.
Fundraisers in reels
If your organisation has an Instagram account, you can now use your Fundraisers in Reels.
A ‘Donate’ button may be added to your Reels clips. When creating Reels, Fundraising details may be added, with fundraiser links being valid for 30 days.
Facebook Live donate button
Donations can now happen through Facebook Live too. A donate button can be added directly within a Livestream. Viewers can give while watching the live video or after it has been posted.
Thank you tools
According to research done, leaving a message on a donor’s Facebook Fundraiser wall is one of the best ways to thank them. It demonstrates that you have recognized their efforts and that your organization is grateful for their assistance. It is advised that you post no more than three messages on their walls. You may also take advantage of the Thank You tool and the Automated Thanking function
Facebook for Nonprofits
Donate Button
The donate button allows users to donate to your organization without leaving Facebook. The donate button can be used to highlight your call to action, encouraging people to support your cause. The Donate button can be added to your Page, Posts and Live Video.
Facebook Live
As previously mentioned, the donate button can be added to Facebook Live sessions too. Facebook Live can be used as an engagement tool.
Nonprofit Page Fundraiser
To be eligible for Facebook’s Fundraising Tools, your organization must be located in a nation or area where Fundraising is available. You need to make sure that your nonprofit signs up to collect donations directly from Facebook too.
Use donor data
If your nonprofit is enrolled directly with Facebook, you have access to donation reports. These donation reports include information on each donation made and a donor’s data like their first name, last name, donation amount and email address (if the donor chooses to share). You can use this data in many ways. You can add it to your database and use the data to follow up with donors. It can also help inform and refine your next marketing campaign, among other things.
Consider Payout lags
When using Facebook’s Fundraising tools, make sure to keep payout lags in mind. Payout timelines will vary depending on the payment service you use.
- When using Meta Pay, donations become eligible for a payout when it reaches the $25 or equivalent minimum donation payout amount. Donations are paid out every two weeks, as an ACH or as a direct deposit into your organization’s bank account.
- If your nonprofit is registered with the Network for Good’s Donor Advised Fund, all funds are sent by electronic transfer or a check is mailed to the address on file. Once donations reach the $10 or equivalent minimum donation payout amount, it becomes eligible for a payout.
- If your nonprofit is directly enrolled in the PayPal Giving Fund, it will receive the money raised in 15 – 45 days after the donation is made on Facebook. Payouts are issued around the end of each month, If your nonprofit is not enrolled in the PayPal Giving Fund, the money raised will be distributed via online payment or check within 90 days of receiving a donation.
