In 2022, taking part in GivingTuesday on November 29, means contributing to the largest generosity movement in the world. Everyone has a role to play because everyone has something to give!
If you’ve followed Support Black Charities for a while, you’ll know that we believe the key to a healthy & thriving Black ecosystem comes from the harmonious relationships between its 3 pillars:
- Its community
- Organizations serving and benefitting its community
- Businesses
Every year, GivingTuesday provides an ideal opportunity worldwide for these pillars to connect and interact through the lens of philanthropy. In 2021, Americans donated $2,7 billions on GivingTuesday (as reported by CNBC).
Whether you are a Supporter, an Organization or a Business, there are numerous ways for you to play an essential role in the biggest Giving Day of the year around the world. Every act of generosity counts!
👉🏾It’s not too late to participate! Here is some information that can help you create an impactful GivingTuesday experience this year!
For Organizations
Participating gives organizations the opportunity to leverage the current narrative, take advantage of the trending global movement, attract new donors and raise more money.
To start, search online for free GivingTuesday guidelines. There are many that are available to download. Choose the toolkit associated to your country or location and start planning your Campaign.
Here are “5 Strategies to help you take your GivingTuesday Campaign to the next level”:
- Educate and notify your audience about GivingTuesday
- Set specific intentions and objectives for your campaign
- Show your organization’s impact
- Leverage existing Giving & Philanthropic platforms (ex: SupportBlackCharities.org 😊!)
- Send personalized Follow-up & Thank you emails to Donors

For Supporters
As a Supporter your main tasks are to (1) Decide how you want to give,(2) Find organizations or causes based on your interests, passion or location then (3) Choose the organizations with current needs that most closely align with how you want to give this year.
One of the reasons Supporters often do not participate is due to not knowing how to give when they are limited by their financial situation or availability. Generosity can be demonstrated in different ways!

- Give your time or talent: volunteer, give your skills
- Give your voice: sign a petition, speak up for a cause
- Give money: donate or fundraise for a nonprofit
- Give goods: organize a supply drive, donate clothes
- Give kindness: buy someone lunch, compliment a stranger

Social responsibility initiatives have been known to boost engagement, increase productivity, reduced turnover, improve employee morale, create favorable internal company culture and team building efforts. Consequently, increasing revenue.
