At Support Black Charities (SBC), we believe in the power of community and collective action. This August, we’re celebrating Black Philanthropy Month and Black Business Month with a series of impactful events, and we need passionate volunteers to help us bring these experiences to life. Your involvement will not only support our mission but also be part of a story that showcases the strength and resilience of the Black community.

 

The theme for our August event series is “SBC Presents: Black Philanthropy In Action.”

  1. THE MASTERMIND  – Wednesday, August 14 @ 1pm – 4pm EST
  2. THE BLOCKO  – Sunday, August 25 @ 11am – 6pm EST
  3. THE ROUNDTABLE  – Wednesday, August 28 @ 1pm – 4pm EST

Volunteer Opportunities by Event

Volunteer Registration Form

  1. THE MASTERMIND

🗓️ Date & Time: Wednesday, August 14 | 12pm – 5pm EST
📍Location: Traveling Barber Soundstage by N2R Spaces, 1121 Bellamy Rd N Unit 1, Scarborough, ON M1H 3B9

Positions Available: 2 Volunteers

  • Check-In & Registration: Manage attendee check-in and provide information.
  • Admin Support: Assist with administrative duties and event coordination.
  • Setup & Teardown: Help prepare the venue before the event and assist with teardown afterward.
  • Refreshments Management: Ensure the refreshments and beverage table is well-stocked.
  • Cleanliness Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in the main area and refreshment section, and ensure bathrooms are tidy.

Shift: 12pm – 5pm EST

  1. THE BLOCKO

🗓️ Date & Time: Sunday, August 25 | 9am – 8:30pm EST
📍Location: Evergreen Brickworks – 300-550 Bayview Ave, Toronto ON M4W3X8

Positions Available: 13 Volunteers

Volunteer Responsibilities & Shifts:

1st Shift: 5 Volunteers (9am – 2pm)

  • Vendor Setup: Assist in setting up tables and sections for vendors.
  • Vendor & Guest Check-In: Greet vendors and guests, provide information, and direct them as needed.
  • Signage & Welcome: Hold signage, welcome guests, and encourage donations.

2nd Shift: 3 Volunteers (10:30am – 7:30pm)

  • Event Curation Support: Shadow event curators, SBC Support Team and assist with various tasks.

3rd Shift: 5 Volunteers (2:30pm – 8:30pm)

  • Guest Engagement: Hold signage, welcome guests, and encourage donations.
  • Teardown Assistance: Help with the teardown and cleanup post-event.

🗓️ Date & Time: Wednesday, August 28 | 12pm – 5pm EST
