Black Giving Day – August 28
Black Philanthropy Month and Black Giving Day have been gaining momentum and popularity in the US over the last 11 years and in Canada and Africa in the last 3 years. As an organization, SupportBlackCharities.org (SBC) is an ambassador of the movement and they are working hard to make it a global event.
The website https://www.give828.org/ Created by the Young Black Giving Back (YBGB) organization have coined he day Black Giving Day.

14-year-old Emmett Till was brutally murdered by three white men, which, became a “flashpoint in the civil rights movement.”
August 28, 1963
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, D.C.

SBC is launching a campaign to encourage potential donors to find an organization to support on their online directory during the month (Start your search here). At the same time, they are actively reaching out to eligible organizations to partner with them to Get Listed on their directory (Get Listed for free here).
We are looking to raise awareness about Black Philanthropy Month and Black Giving Day around the world hoping that it grows to become an annual event that the entire Global Black community celebrates and participates in to make a difference.
